February is the month of love ♥♥♥ Naturally since it’s the month of love, one may want to get in the mood for romance! So I’ve decided I should probably read a few romance books this month. To keep myself sane, I’ve also sprinkled in some weird girl books and some thriller books in this list that I really, really want to read.

Here are 8 books on my February 2024 TBR I’m dying to read:

Book Lovers by Emily Henry

I want to see what the Emily Henry hype is all about. I have no idea what to expect since I don’t read Romance books very often. To be completely honest, I chose a random Henry book that my friends seemed to really like. I think it’s about a literary agent who is obsessed with books and then ends up falling for someone else who is also obsessed with books? I’ll keep you posted, this will be something new for me!

Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson

A fantasy with some romance surrounding main character Tress, who has spent her entire life on an emerald ocean. She is forced to go on a fantastical journey facing pirates, sorceresses, and maybe a princess bride. I am so stoked about this one. Ever since I bought it at my local book shop, I have been obsessed with the cover design!

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Elizabeth Bennett is a witty, intelligent girl who is at odds with a wealthy man, Mr. Darcy. Her sister, Jane, is interested in Darcy’s friend, Charles Bingley. Through this romance, we learn all about how our pride and prejudice (see what I did there) can block us from leading a life full of happiness and depth. It’s a classic, we love it. I need to finally finish it so I can finally declare it as a favorite.

Shark Heart by Emily Habeck

I heard the premise of this book and instantly had to get my hands on it. This book is supposedly endearing and heart wrenching; it’s about a man who is diagnosed with a rare condition. Over time, this man’s body will take the shape of a shark and him and his wife have to work through it together. It sounds so weird; I can’t wait.

They Never Learn by Layne Fargo

This is a thriller about a woman professor who takes revenge on men who have done bad things and she does it in the worst way possible: murder. Readers of this blog will already know this is my bread and butter. It’s a thriller surrounding murder, it’s female-focused, and there’s some very high stakes.

Good Girl, Bad Blood by Holly Jackson

The sequel to A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder (which I gave 5 stars). Obviously, I gotta read the second one! I am so invested in the main characters, Pip and Ravi, and I can’t wait to see what they get up to next. Surely, there will be mystery!

Maurice by E.M. Forster

A queer romance written in 1914! This story focuses on self-discovery, sexual identity, social norms, and unrequited love. I am very fond of Forster’s writing which has led me to pick up another book of his! And about queer love, nonetheless; I love queer literature.

Earthlings by Sayaka Murata

This book is supposed to be super weird. This piece of fiction starts off with two childhood best friends experiencing magic in the mountains until something awful happens. Then, our main character, Natsuki, grows up and reunites with this childhood bestfriend to rehash what once happened before. I have no idea what to expect from this book either, and I’m really looking forward to going into this mostly blind!

Well that is my February TBR! I hope to get to all of these books, but like what usually happens, I may be in a spontaneous mood and pick something else up off my shelf. We shall see!
